Description

Two scientists have uncovered the DNA link to heart disease in a remote Italian mountain village. They have discovered a way to synthesize the cure in order to sell it to the public. They're up for the Nobel Prize and set to make millions after teaming up with an Austrian biotechnology company. But there are factions who make a good living off the number-one killer in America and other companies that want the solution for themselves. When attempts to steal the new cure lead to murder, there is only one man who can bring the dolomite solution to the public: Jake Adams.

Murder, suspense, and intrigue propel this third Jake Adams mystery thriller from the Dolomite mountains of northern Italy to the winding back streets of Innsbruck, Austria, and across the Atlantic to Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay.

Reviews

AudioFile Magazine...
Two scientists are nominated for a Nobel Prize for discovering, in a small Italian village, the DNA link to heart disease and a way to synthesize a cure for it. Intrigue develops as different groups vie for the discovery, each for their own reasons. There's lots of murder and mayhem, with hero Jake Adams coming to the rescue. With his deep voice and natural reading style, Stefan Rudnicki turns in a smooth and seamless performance. His German accent is excellent, and his British accent is, wisely, not overdone. Rudnicki turns in a good performance, though the story leaves the listener wishfully thinking about the new miracle drug. S.S.R. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine

Publishers Weekly...
Previous titles have fit the Tom Clancy techno mold, but this falls more in the James Bond tradition.
